Mascots and You

Whether you are a fan of the Lions, Tigers, and Bears or the Ravens, Timberwolves, or Rays, I want to hear about your experience and understanding of what your favorite (or least favorite) non-human, animal mascot/team nickname means to you.

In order for me to write this paper for class, here's what I need:

- Team/Mascot and City, Sport

- What you think your mascot represents as far as the fans/players, sport, and general qualities

- Why you think your mascot is unique or has an impact on how people perceive the team and the city it represents

- Anything else you feel is important in this conversation

This is designed to collect interpretations and experiences regarding interaction with non-human animal mascots in sports.

By posting or responding to this blog, I, the participant, contribute my interview or folklore item(s) with Johnathan G. Bonner, for use in research in regards to a paper on animal folklore for Utah State University. I understand that the materials that Johnathan G. Bonner acquires are for scholarly and educational purposes and may be duplicated by/for him or affiliates (USU students & faculty, researchers, community members). I understand that Johnathan G. Bonner plans to retain the released item(s) as part of his permanent collection and that the materials may be used for exhibition, publication, promotion, and presentation on the World Wide Web (internet) or successor technology.

I grant to Johnathan G. Bonner ownership of the physical property of my participation (cassette tape(s), CD, transcript, .wav file, MP3 format, photograph(s), video, etc.) delivered to him and the right to use the property that is the product of my participation (or example, my interview, folklore items, performance, photographs, and written materials) as stated above. By giving permission, I understand that I do not give up any copyright or performance rights that I hold.

I also grant to Johnathan G.
